We’re pleased to be recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2025-2028 for inspiring, imagining, and impacting teaching and learning in grade 4-6 through continuous innovation.

Our Story

Our journey began in 2019 when we implemented a one-to-one iPad for our digital smart classroom program. Throughout the past six years, we have made continuous innovation in teaching and learning which result in a number of achievements for our school. In 2020, our teachers started to get the Apple Teacher certificates. Then in 2021, one of our students is awarded as one of top 5 students in a digital bootcamp. As well as the students, one of our Apple teachers won the 1st place in a learning innovation competition for national level. As an institution, we has been recognized as pioneer of digital schools among other Al Azhar schools under Al Azhar Islamic Foundation. And finally after a long journey, alhamdulillah this year we are recognized as an Apple Distinguished school for inspiring, imagining, and impacting teaching and learning through continuous innovation.

Inspire

Our vision is to generate students with good character, environmental culture, superior achievement and 21st century skills. Our journey of using technology in the classrooms started in 2019 when we adapting a one-to-one iPad programme for students in our digital classroom program. Before implementing the digital classroom program, our leaders provide and actively engage in training for adopting technology in teaching and learning. As the program runs, leaders of the school keep motivating and monitoring how the technology is used in the classroom. Using the iPad, teachers can effectively play their role as facilitators, and students can expand their roles as creators. Teachers may provide a variety of learning experiences, motivate students to create and collaborate in making digital work.

Imagine

The digital classroom program gives our students the opportunities to demonstrate their learning according to their preference. Teachers are not the only source of learning, with the technology in their hands, students may find their own learning sources. This way, not only they are encouraged to be independent but also to be responsible for their choices. In collaborative learning, our students get used to collaborating in a project and also in solving problems. Our students take part in a school collaborative program such as the new students enrollment program and a digital showcase for lower grade students. All over the school, technology has been widely used in most of school activities and programs. In the classrooms, it’s been a routine to share the material for learning online among teachers and students. Our students created many kinds of digital works with the help of technology. They design, create and publish their ideas and learnings

Impact

To maintain the quality of the digital classroom program, our school gathered some data to show the progress and continuous improvement affected by the program. In a survey asking about the usefulness of the iPad in the classroom, 98,9 % of our students say that the iPad helps them learn in a faster, more effective and flexible way. Moreover 63 % of our students use iPad mostly for creativity. Our innovation in utilizing technology for education has brought many success to our school. In 2021, one of our students became one of top 5 students in a digital bootcamp. Another impact of Implementing the digital classroom program in our school is that our teachers are becoming skillful to integrate technology in the teaching. As the result, In 2022, one of our teachers won a national competition for learning innovation. Then, in 2023 we received an award as a pioneer of digital school among other Al Azhar schools around Indonesia
